 Introduction
Utilizing the latest x86 technology to run and drive
applications based on Linux and the Solaris Operating System,
x86 Platform Edition, the Sun Fire V65x server is an easily
expandable, highly available solution for deploying Web infrastructure
applications, technical compute farms, grid computing implementations,
database or development servers, or general-purpose Tier 1
or Tier 2 applications. The Sun Fire V65x server features
up to two 2.8-GHz or 3.06-GHz Intel Xeon processors, up to
12 GB of memory, six 36-GB or 73-GB hard drives, six PCI-X
slots, and dual redundant power supplies.
The Sun Fire V65x server, in addition to the Sun Fire V60x
server, provides an ideal entry point into the Sun family
of rack-optimized servers. From the x86-based, dual-processor
Sun Fire V60x to the 106-UltraSPARC-processor Sun Fire 15K
server, Sun provides an end-to-end architecture that supports
an organization's hardware, software, service, consulting,
and training needs.

The Sun Fire V65x server, along with the Sun Fire V60x server,
is a next-generation follow-up to the Sun LX50 server. The
